An American tourist visiting Saudi Arabia embraces Islam

During his discussion with Steve, Sheikh Sudais highlighted several Qur’anic verses and Prophetic narrations that advised Muslims on how to treat their neighbours.

An American executive visiting Saudi Arabia has embraced Islam at the hands of Sheikh Dr. Abdur-Rahman Al-Sudais, Chief of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque in Makkah and Masjid Nabawi in Madina.

Steve, who works in the tourism sector in the US state of Miami, was visiting the southwestern city of Abha with a group of friends. He lived in the same neighbourhood as Sheikh Sudais, who was also spending some days in the area. It was Saad Al-Matrafi, Sheikh Sudais’ translator, who met with Steve and gave him Zamzam water and dates as a gift from Imam of the Grand Mosque.

Al-Matrafi said Steve showed a keen interest in knowing more about Islam and kept reading books about Islamic teachings. He also briefed Sheikh Sudais about his meeting with the American tourist. Sheikh Al-Sudais then requested to meet with his American neighbour.

During his discussion with Steve, Sheikh Sudais highlighted several Qur’anic verses and Prophetic narrations that advised Muslims on how to treat their neighbours.  Sheikh Sudais said that Steve “was now his brother in Islam”.
